UK Owner Survey - The Kennel Club registered dogs: Newly published research

A9R1egmnms_1q1i6il_3fc.thumb.png.abc8e8aaeba2c6420340a28d161a2a43.pngThe good news...from a total of 43,005 live Kennel Club registered dogs, just under two thirds of live dogs had no reported disorders...

The rest of the story...

"These results will assist the forthcoming Kennel Club Breed Health & Conservation Plans that will identify and prioritise the most pressing welfare concerns and provide advice to breeders/owners on steps that may be taken to minimise the risk of common conditions in particular breeds. Future breed-specific studies are recommended to gather more precise health information across more individual breeds."

The Jack Russell Terrier Club of America (JRTCA) has recently formed a 501c3, The Jack Russell Terrier Museum and Crawford Library. The museum and library were formed to help us fulfill our mission to 'preserve and protect' the true Jack Russell Terrier and our unique registry. The JRTCA only registers one dog at a time rather than whole litters. Our terriers must be at least 1 year of age before being eligible for our registry plus each terrier must pass a veterinary certified examination and not show any evidence of a congenital defect plus have a 5 generation pedigree on both sire and dam. Each breeder is required to sign a breeders code of ethics. For more information on the museum and library, named after our founder, Ailsa Crawford, please visit our website www.jackrussellterriermuseum.com
