USDA wants dog breeder accreditation


    According to an April 15, 2015, article published by the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Department of Agriculture is supporting an effort to create dog care standards that could eventually lead to development of a privately operated dog breeder accreditation program.

     


     

    In a move animal welfare advocates believe could help reduce animal suffering in commercial breeding operations, the USDA has included the creation of a private accreditor program for professional dog breeders among its goals for the next five years.
